Psalm 37:4-6

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

Fall fun!

We've had a crazy busy Fall season. Here are a few of the things our family has been up to lately...

As the price of organic grain continues to rise, we look for more cost-effective ways of feeding our cows. More and more, we work towards being a self-sufficient farm. At this time, we grow all our own forage hay, but we still buy our grain. This year we planted a test crop of flax seed and barley and rented a combine to harvest it. We hope to use some for feed and plant the rest next year. FarmDad enjoyed a beautiful day on the combine and was happy to get 6 tons of flax and 22 tons of barley off the field.
My favorite apple tree decided to produce a proliferation of apples this year-- yay! We've been making applesauce and drying apples like crazy.
The last apples of the season.
We decided to pick our crab apples and make jelly-- so yummy and easy to make!
Picking elderberries for syrup.
Miss Smiley is enjoying 1st grade this year. She is learning how to read!
